RED BAY, AL – Melanie Humphries McKinney, 48, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 22, 2023. Melanie was born May 3, 1974 to Dannie and Debbie Humphries. She had two younger sisters, Marisa and Maria. Melanie and her family attended the Red Bay Church of God where she enjoyed singing, attending camp and spending time with her youth group. She graduated from Red Bay High School in 1992. Melanie married Tracy Elliott and they had two children, Laken and Tra. She spent many years as a stay at home mom and enjoyed taking her children to a ball field or cheer gym. Her children were her whole world. As her kids grew older, she began to pursue another passion, interior decorating. She could decorate the most beautiful Christmas trees and had an eye for design.
Melanie was a small woman with a big personality. She loved clothes, music and Alabama football. Most recently, the thing that brought her the most joy was her grandchildren, Jack Murl and Ella Ray. She absolutely loved being a “Gamma” and was looking forward to adding two more grand babies this year. Her absence will leave a huge void in all of her families’ heart.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 25, 4 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God with Bro. Rick Bradley, Bro. Micah Jackson and Leigh Ann Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
