Sharon Kuykendall

RED BAY, AL – Frances Sharon Kuykendall, 55, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Helen Keller Hospital following an accident.  Sharon was born October 31, 1967, to Woodie and Jackie Ann Hammock Kuykendall. She was a 1986 graduate of Red Bay High School where she enjoyed all sports and cheerleading, especially playing tennis in the evenings. Sharon had and raised her four surviving children with her former spouse, Kenneth A. Williams. Sharon was a outgoing friendly and happy individual who never meet a stranger. She loved the outdoors and spending time with her children, family and friends. Sharon was spiritually strong in her faith from childhood and throughout her life, believing good prevailed in everyone and never hesitated to provide a helping hand to anyone. Sharon’s career evolved from house mom to business management, then Department of Defense contracting as a Material Coordinator and finally in retail customer service. She lived in Charleston, SC area for more than 16 years before moving home to Red Bay in 2022. Sharon will be remembered most for her laughter and kind heart, she will forever be missed, until we meet again. 

Funeral services will be Friday, January 6, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Roger Martin officiating.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her son – Koty Alan Williams; three daughters – Kacie Ann Williams Baker, Kayla Brooke Williams and Kelsey Leigh Williams; three grandchildren – Tate Colton Baker, Colt Hoover Baker, Everleigh Drew Wallace; two brothers- Woodie Craig Kuykendall and Ronald Kevin Kuykendall (Connie); two sisters – Freida Karen Kuykendall and Rhonda Fancher; two aunts – Barbara Hammock Black and Nellie Jean Kuykendall Strickland.

She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother-Reba Cranford Fancher Kuykendall, grandparents- Jack and Grace Grissom Hammock and Hillwright and Iona Hellums Kuykendall, her uncles- Norris Lee Hammock and Hillard Ray Hammock.

Pallbearers will be Koty A. Williams, Ronald K. Kuykendall, Brent Bolding, Allic A. Wallace, Tyler Williams, Michael Williams.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. and Friday, January 6, from 10-11 a.m. all at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.

In lieu of flowers family ask for donations to be made to Deaton Funeral Home. The family would like to thank everyone for all the kind words and support through this hard time.
