DENNIS, MS – Jimmy Lee Harris, 81 was born December 8, 1941 and passed away on December 26, 2022 at the Red Bay Hospital.  He was a member of Assembly of Christ Church in Dennis, MS and had served in the National Guard.  Jimmy never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went.  He loved driving a truck and his truck driving friends were like his close family.  He loved talking about trucks and reliving memories of trips he made during his driving career.

Jimmy loved talking about the Lord and serving Him the most.  He took every opportunity to tell people about God’s love for us and how we have a better life in heaven if we accept Jesus as our Savior.  We take comfort knowing that today Jimmy Lee Harris is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus and is happy and whole!

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Donnie Wooten and Bro. Jerry Ginn officiating.  Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ruth Harris; one son, Terry James Aldridge (Yvonne) of Dennis; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Verlon Deaton Harris; his father, Lee Curtis Harris; one sister, Brenda Jones; one very precious daughter, Margaret Ruth Sartain and a cherished son-in-law, Larry Sartain.

Pallbearers will be Steve Bostick, Larry Harris, Calvin Ozbirn, J.W. Harris, Billy Harris, Lebrun Harris and Tommy Guinn.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, 10-2 at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
