Missing juveniles from Miss., vape loot stolen from Red Bay found in Hamilton

HAMILTON | Vape paraphernalia believed stolen in the robbery of a Red Bay gas station, along with handguns, mask and a marijuana plant, were collected by police in Hamilton after two juveniles missing from Mississippi were apprehended there on Monday.

Now, authorities are working to determine what charges they may be facing.

The Hamilton Police Department had issued a notice on Friday, April 1, that they were searching for two individuals spotted in a vehicle stolen from Baldwyn. The Baldwyn, Miss., Police Department later issued an alert on a teenage female, Laken Frison, 15, missing from Baldwyn, allegedly leaving voluntarily with the male juvenile, her boyfriend, Christopher Barry, 17. Barry was described in the notice as being armed and dangerous.

When officers in Hamilton spotted the two, they fled on foot. Officers were able to capture one individual quickly. Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department as well as agents from the 25th Judicial District Attorney’s Office responded to assist in the search.

It was later learned one of the suspects, Barry, was being sought in connection with the March 23 robbery of the Chevron Quik Stop in Red Bay, where three suspects walked into the store around 3:15 a.m., went around the front counter, and stole a large quantity of vaping paraphernalia before running off into the night. Red Bay Police then joined the investigation of the situation Hamilton.

On Monday, authorities apprehended Frison and Barry, and both were turned over to their guardians. The juveniles were located in an apartment in Hamilton along with two adult males who were also apprehended there.

Barry faces multiple charges including auto theft, eluding police and robbery. He is out on bond. The investigation of the matter continues, and additional charges could be filed against other individuals.
