VINA | The Town of Vina has new a few new faces to run and take care of business for the next four years.
Probate Judge Barry Moore was in town to swear in new Mayor, Michael Moomaw, along with Town Council members. Moomaw was first to be sworn in with his parents, Bill and Philomena Moomaw, holding the Bible.
Also sworn in were Renea Chandler, Jeff McAlister, Luke Childers, Denieta Cantrell, and Wanda Hacker. Following the ceremony and a reception in their honor, the town leaders held their first official meeting.
State Rep. Jamie Kiel was also in attendance for the swearing-in.
Moomaw won election in August to replace D.W. Franklin, who retired after serving as Vina’s mayor for two decades.
