TUSCUMBIA, AL – James Steven Scott, 68, died Sunday, March 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Russellville, AL and was a truck driver. He was a member and deacon of Victory Missionary Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals, AL and a member of Washington Masonic Lodge in Tuscumbia, AL.
Services will be Thursday, March 5, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Danny Stanford and Bro. Buford Parker officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years – Carolyn Scott, Tuscumbia, AL; two children – Stephanie Glass (Jeff) Russellville, AL and Brent Scott (Amy) Muscle Shoals, AL; four grandchildren – Briana Champion (Ryan), Colten Cochran, Lillie Glass (fiance’ Joshua) and Paylen Scott; one brother – Randall Scott (Wanda); three sisters – Rena Campbell, Deborah McKay (Donald) and Jackie Whitworth (Scott); step-father – Rayford Campbell, three sisters-in-law – Karen Smith, Sharon Stacy (B.D.) and Tammy Cook (Ronnie), and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford Scott and Shirley Campbell, two brothers, Stanley Scott and Richard Scott, father and mother-in-law – Bill and Evonne Singleton and a brother-in-law – Roger Smith.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Smith, Corey Davis, Colby Cook, Jon Stacy, Brian Foreman and Josh Dobbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Nichols, Trevor McKay, Landry Whitworth, Jeremy Scott, Jason Scott and Richard Scott.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
