BELMONT, MS – John Wayne Johnson, 76, died Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Russellville Hospital. He was born in Marianna, AR, worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a Christian.
Services will be Friday, December 27, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Tim Thorn officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Site Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife of thirty years – Peggy Johnson, Belmont, MS; one daughter – Deanna Comer (Jerry), Stantonville, TN; one son – Dwayne Johnson (Amy) Belmont, MS; grandchildren – Samantha Bennett (Brandon) Saltillo, TN, Anthony Comer (Stacy) Stantonville, TN, Meta Armstrong (Cody) Red Bay, AL, Stefanie Lott (Nic) Adamsville, TN, Tehla Bell (Zachary) and Kaitlin Bolton, all of Belmont, MS; several great-grandchildren and brothers-in-law – Nolan Bailey (Jan) and John Bailey (Peggy).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Anna Earlene Hill Johnson and a step-daughter, Melissa Bolton.
Pallbearers will be Nolan Bailey, Kevin Bolton, Zachary Bell, Cody Armstrong, Anthony Comer and Tim Boyd. Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
