Russellville | Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said Tuesday that forensics specialists have determined a skull found at Horseshoe Bend is that of a male, but there is little more to go on.
On June 10 a human skull was recovered near the Horseshoe bend Camping area by people hiking in the area. Oliver said his department received a report back on July 1 from the Forensic Skeletal Recovery and Analysis scientist that stated that the skull was that of an 18-50 years of age white male that appeared to have been deceased between 2 and 7 years and fowl play could been involved.
“The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has no active missing persons at this time that meets that description,” Oliver said.
The case remains under investigation.
