Red Bay Boys, Girls repeat as County track champs

Once again, both the boys and the girls track teams for Red Bay dominated and won first place in last week’s Franklin County track meet.  Red Bay’s boys scored an overall 232.5 and the girls scored 242.5.

Red Bay walked away with 14 first place finishes this year.  For the girls’ team, Alexis Tabbs won the 400m, Makenzi Gasaway won the 3200m, Lila Blackburn won Javelin, Sarah Eaton won Shotput, Jaycee Vinson won the High Jump, and the 400m relay team also took a first place finish.

Finishing in first for the boys were Kyler Joseph in the 100m and 300m hurdles, Arden Hamilton in the 400m, and Hunter Pounds in the 3200m.  Kyser Jackson, Mason Holt, Colyn Humphres, and Jalen Vinson were the winning team in the 100m relay.  Arden Hamilton, Tanner Hamilton, Clay Allison, and Andrew Ray won the 400m relay.  Logan Scott won in Shotput and Tanner Hamilton won the High Jump.  

Belgreen’s girls finished in second place with 175.5 points, while Tharptown’s boys came in second with94.5 points.

For all the track members that qualified to compete in sectionals, they will be held in Scottsboro beginning on April 26th.
