VINA, AL – Sylvia Tate Carpenter, 69, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her daughter’s residence in Red Bay, Al. She was born in Alabama and was a deli worker at Piggly Wiggly in Red Bay for fifteen years. She was a member of Five Points Church of Christ.
Services will be Thursday, June 15, 3 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay, Al. with Danny Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay, Al. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by three children – Freda Carpenter Massey and James Carpenter, both of Red Bay, Al. and Brandi Carpenter Duckworth (Bradley) Vina, Al.; two grandchildren– Candi Massey Fuller (Brian) and Chasity Massey Franks (Andrew); one brother – Jimmy Tate (Sue) Red Bay, Al.; one sister – Barbara Jackson, Brilliant, Al.; six great-grandchildren – Hunter Fuller, Melee Weaver, Matthew Fuller, Sara Beth Fuller, Abryanna Franks and Walker Franks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Carpenter, her parents, Rebon and Inez Tate, two brothers, Bobby Tate and Gary Tate and one grandson, Brantley Tate Duckworth.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Miller, Phillip Hardin, Michael Cross, Jeff Reid, Nathan Faulkner and Steven Webb.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 1-2:45 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al.
