Harold Leon Higginbottom, 65, of Belmont, died Sunday, May 6, 1990, at Red Bay Hospital. He was a native of Mississippi, a retired carpenter, member of Antioch Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. Services were held Tuesday, May 8, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with the Revs. Ray Cantrell, Chris Jenkins and Grady Oliver officiating. Burial followed in Ridge Cemetery, Itawamba County. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, was in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Higginbottom of Belmont; son, Jimmy Higginbottom of Red Bay; daughter, Jo Ann Johnson of Red Bay; brothers, Edward Higginbottom of Iuka, Miss., Lilburn Higginbottom of Dennis, Miss.; sister, Maxine Cooper of Dennis, Miss.; six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jackie Cooper, Mike Higginbottom, Greg Higginbottom, Ray Higginbottom and Charles Higginbottom.
